ll ' ll lust Out Runnmg Around This year the Cats Cross Country Team has run through 6 losses to only 3 victories. One of the better races was Los Altos, and according to the head coach Roger French Notre Dame vs. U.S.C. is child's play compared to Cats vs. Los Altos. In the past the Cats have created a reputation to rise for the Conquerors and that, they did, beating them 25 to 30 on Los Altos' home course. The winner of that race was Wilson's Randy Roberts along with Greg Winters picking up a third. One main problem of the team was not enough experienced runners on Varsity. With five non-lettermen, four of which were sophomores and one freshman, they tried to make an impressive showing for the school and themselves on the seven man squad. Varsity Runners - Most Valuable Varsity runner was Senior Capt. Randy Roberts, H12 Junior Greg Winters, W3 Most Improved Soph. Tom Robins, Ili 4 Soph. Rusty Roberts, 355 Most Valuable - Most Improved Rookie Freshman Bobby Golenore, the ilfo and 417 positions were up for grabs during most of the season with Senior Chris Johnson lCaptainl.

Over 3,500 Strides Start To Finish The J.V.-Frosh-Soph Cross Country team promises to give us great runners and a winning season next year. According to Mr. Roger French, Cross Country coach, the Sophomore class has several strong runners. The team always put out tremendous effort and they never lacked spirit or enthusiasm. A . i
