In 1971 a contest was sponsored by the Student Council to choose a design for our school flag. The flag was pro- duced in 1972 and has become an important factor in our school morale . In the fall of 1973 , the PTA raised the money to purchase a mascot. This mascot, a wooden Beaver is placed in the hall with the flag for our visitors and students to observe . These two items have contributed to the Shape of Things in our school. Rose Pefaf Gfen Rose High Schoof Malvern, Arkansas Vofume 27 X 'N 1' .. gli N . . as 3 ' L, will - AQ-L 1 W! The Shape of Things to come in the future depends largely upon the teachings that we have received during our years at Glen Rose . It is to a person who has contributed so much to our education that we dedi- cate this annual. We feel that he has done more than his share in contribut- ing to our school. Not only does he make his classes interesting , but he also has exciting hobbies which he likes to share with the students. The quality of the photography in our annual is the result of his time and efforts. The Senior Class of 1975 dedicates the Rose Petal, to you Mr. Brazil, because without you it would have been impossible to produce. W N 4 Lunch Bunch We are tense and waiting for that anticipated moment. Thecountdownhasbegun . . . 5 . . . 4 . . . 3 . . . 2 . . . 1 . . . Bell rings! Lunch time begins! We all have different ideas how to spend our lunch time . Some enjoy eating in the cafeteria, others - not quite able adapt themselves to the cafeteria food - enjoy having coke and potato chips at the Student Lounge, while a few skip lunch altogether and spend the time talking with friends or maybe having a nice little chat with someone special. It is through the Council that a vital link has been established between the students, faculty, and administration. Not only have they introduced many new ideas, to better our school, but they also worked hard to put them into effect. It was through the efforts of the Student Council that we have had the use of the Student Lounge area at lunch. It was also the Student Council that sponsored the first Football Homecoming this year. A Beaver homecoming means many things to different people. To the athletes it means an extra incentive to play the best ball game ever. To the students and faculty it is a time of hard, endless work and cooperation. And to the Royalty it is a time of nervousness and excitement. Butterflies are Free was the theme for this year's basketball homecoming. The theme was carried out vividly by the brightly colored butterflies and rainbow that decorated the stage. The Queen and her Maids brought out the elegance and the beauty of Homecoming night. The Queen and Princess were chosen by the Sr. Boys' Basketball team. The Basketball Maid was chosen by t.he Sr. Girls Basketball team and the Cheerleader Maid was chosen by the Cheerleaders. The other four maids were chosen by the individual classes. Susan Hoffman, the Student Council President, was the announcer. The 1974-75 Basketball Homecoming was sponsored by The Student Council. The people who were responsible for the stage decorations were: Mrs. Floyd, Mrs. Burks. and Mr. Henthorne. Our thanks go to them and the many students who through their endless work , made this home- coming possible.
