All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players . . these immortal words of William Shakespeare pertain to the lives of all, even to the teen-age boy or girl whose stage is the school he or she attends. Here at Glen-Nor for six important years the student's life centers around the school. Every- thing in which he participates-the daily learn- ing routine, the athletic activities, the school plays, the dances, the assemblies, the proms, and the music night-relates to the school in some way, and more of his time is spent here than anywhere else. To learn the lines for all these great events and to master the motions for them, he labors many hours. Opening nights are frequent, and with few exceptions the per- formances are well received. Occupying many on-stage moments and pro- viding a means of reminiscing when the big show is over is the yearbook. This year for the first time the annual has a name all of its own. After much discussion and a balloting of the entire school, the book was finally christ- ened The Chieftain. Especially is this name fit- ting in view of two things. Have not the ath- letic squads long been termed the Indians? And have not Glen-Nor students time and again proven themselves superior in achieve- ment along scholastic, social, and extracurricu- lar lines? Yes, definitely, The Chieftain is a title very suitable for the drama of life at Glen-Nor High School. To you, the reader, then we extend a hearty welcome as you look through this yearbook- the program of the great play in our lives. May you enjoy it as much as we have enjoyed pre- senting it to you. The house lights are dimming, the final strains of the overture die away: so settle back in your seats and on with the play. 'W Cl, tag? ...Q
