Band Conquers a Deserving Year Under the direction of Mr. Tom MacNaughton and Mary Jo Bolton as drum major, the '72 Marching La- kers had a very successful year. They marched in the National Cherry Festival held in Traverse City and the Coho Festival in Honor. This year the band performed five times in concert. At these performances, a band member was picked to model the band uniform which they hope to get in the near future. The Northwestern Michigan Conference organized an all-conference band, in which twelve members of Glen Lake's band performed. The concert was held in Onekama, and band members stayed overnight. District Band Festival was held at the Lars Hockstad Auditorium in Traverse City. The Senior High Band received a II rating, much deserved after a year of hard work. Mr. MacNaughton enjoyed directing the Brethren High School Band during an exchange concert at Glen Lake. 30
