DEDICATION To a man whose qualities of friendliness, sportsmanship and understanding have been an example to all of us . . . To one who is capable of producing a state championship basketball team. With respect, affection and admiration the Class of I960 dedicates THE LAKER to Coach Harold O'Brien for his service as a teacher, friend and coach.

Not Pictured: Fred Gauthier. VARSITY BASKETBALL The Varsity Lakers played championship basketball throughout the 1959-1960 season with a 17-2 record of wins and losses. Glen Lake's winning streak of 27 consecutive victories was halted--temporarily --by Suttons Bay, in an upset which stunned everybody at first, but which alerted the Lakers to the kind of playing that brought them only one other defeat (St. Fran- cis, in a non-conference game). The Lakers were on top in return games’with these two foes. Coach Harold O'Brien looks to some fast juniors and sophomores, and in-com- ing freshmen to carry the ball for the Lakers in the 1960-1961 season.
