ifchlafzq On September 2, 1952, we, the 16 eager, mischievous, and 'green' freshmen entered the halls of G.E.H. S. The first year we selected our motto, 'Impossible is Un-American g colors, blue and white, and class flower, red camation. For our class officers, we elected Marcel Miles, President: Richard Wright, Vice President: Donna Neifert, Secretaryg and Jack Marzolf, Treasurer. Our sponsors were Miss Velma Blankln and Mr. Richard Wolford. Our sophomore year found us with 17 students. We had gained Ronald Stouffer. As our class officers we elected Ronald Stouffer, President: Douglas Terry, Vice President: Sharon Graff, Secretary: and Wayne Musgrove, Treasurer. Coach Don l-Ieiland and Mrs. Earl Boyd were our sponsors. At last we were upper-classmenl I It was great. We were sorry to lose Mary Golladay and Scott More, but glad to have Helen Willcey with us. Our Junior Class officers were: Marcel Miles, President: Ronald Stouffer, Vice President: Helen Wilkey, Secretaryg and Donna Neifert, Treasurer. Our sponsors were Miss Hazel Griffeth and Mr. William J. Mitchell. One of the highlights of our Junior year was our Junior Class Play, 'Happy Daze, given on January 18, 1955, at the Grade School Audi- torium. Despite bad weather, we had a large crowd. On May 6, 1955, we gave the Junior-Senior Banquet in honor of the Seniors. For our theme we chose 'Oriental Gardens. ' We started our Senior year with 16 students eager to get their di- plomas. Glen Huebner joined our class, but we lost Helen Wilkey. Class officers were Dennis Neifert, President: Marcel Miles, Vice Presi dent: Alice Neff, Secretaryg and Donna Neifert, Treasurer. Time sure did fly. Before long we were practicing for our Senior Class Play, lf Mother Only Knew' which we presented on December 6, 1955. One of the highlights of the year was the Junior-Senior Banquet, sponsored by the Juniors. One of the biggest events of our high school days was our long awaited Senior Sneak, when we went to Kirkwood Lodge, Lake of the Ozarks, Osage Beach, Missouri. The big day finally arrived and we, the 16 anxious Seniors, re- ceived our diplomas, the reward for four years of hard work.
