SEZNICIR CARNIVAL g The Seniors of 1947 sponsored a carnival, November 22, to raise funds for the Senior sneak. The evening's program began with the band playing several numbers. Then everyone was invited to attend the ministrel show, directed by Miss Gaston. Several numbers were presented. The two ends were darkies played by Joe Morris and Ronald Studer. At the close of the program, Mrs. Morris introduced Mephisto, the class mascot, who gave the audience quite a horse laugh. Everyone then came to visit the Midway where they bought confetti, paper hats, hot dogs, and what have you. They played bingo, visited the fortune teller, the art gallery, the hobby show, museum, and the Mexican Garden where Mexican food was served. Others threw balls at milk bottles, fished in the pond, sent telezrams, or just had a good social time with their friends. The House of Terror was a very popular place, where Charley Wiss, the wild man, made chills and shivers tingle up many people's spines. There were sixteen hobby displays in the Hobby Show with Mrs. Frank Humes winning the adult prize for her salt and pepper shakers, and John Bookless, the children's prize with his models. Other attractions were the turkey raffle, with Ruth Ann Reid, Dwight Timbers, and Leo Wagner as winners, the cake-walk where there were ten lucky winners, and the crowning of the carnival queen. Dortha Mae Weidenhaft, a senior, was crowned queen and presented with a Parker pen 'as a souvenir. Her attendents, Reta Stuart, junior, Joan Porter, sophomore, and Joyce Neifert, freshman, were given corsages of white carnations. The seniors wish to express their appreciation to each of you for your wonderful support and contributions which made their carnival a success. l1llLn.a....l l ILAIOUK' ne ,gif
