She is trying to prevent her daughter from marrying a not-so-wealthy Greenwich Village artist. And most of all she is trying to hide the family skeleton, Aunt Lucky, who hails from Rabbit Hash Landing, Kentucky. Billy Hill gets wind of this and pretends to be Winnie Mae Hanks. And then, who should come but the real Winnie Mae. Who's who and what's what? The excitement has just begun, for Kentucky Twist, Winnie Mae's pa, comes a-shootin' his way in. When the truth is unveiled at the hilarious climax, Mrs. Winthrop-Beare is lead to understand that aristocracy is not the most important thing in life.
