DONALD GOODYEAR Surprise Mr. Goodyear!! It has been very hard keeping this a secret from you. We arc sorry we had to deceive you with the phony layouts and the little white lies. Even your wife helped us with our little scheme. We, the Profile staff, dedicate this 1984 yearbook to Donald Goodyear — a friend, teacher and advisor. The Profile staff asked some of Mr. Goodyear’s students what they had to say about him and here are their responses: “never angry,” “fair,” “open minded,” “liberal,” “friendly no matter who you arc,” “liked by all.” Mr. Goodyear never tells a person that he is completely wrong; he tries to explain why the person isn’t completely correct and then he leads him to find the answer. He always tries to make his classes fun; a few of his students once performed “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” during his Latin American class. Most yearbook advisors “burn-out” after a couple of years, but Mr. Goodyear has stuck with Profile for eleven years. He is always caring and concerned about other people's feelings. For instance, he was willing to leave his picture out of the faculty section in case some teachers complained that they were left out. Well, Mr. Goodyear, we got your picture in the faculty section in more ways than one. Being a yearbook advisor is a tough job and Mr. Goodyear is the best advisor Profile could ever have. Not only docs he guide us, but Mr. Goodyear is also considered one of our best staff photographers. He is willing to put in the time to learn new yearbook concepts as well as teach us old ones. Mr. Goodyear shows that by teaching, a person is also learning; and this we believe is the mark of a true educator. Thank you Mr. Goodyear!! 19
