All Rights Reserved. Used By Permission. FACULTY DEDICATION Concerned, caring , lovable , and tough but understanding are all words used by students, colleagues, and admirers to describe Albert V. Johnson. It is to A.J. , as he is more commonly known, that the Class of 1982 dedicates this yearbook. As a GCHS art teacher for thirteen years. Mr. Johnson sternly pushes us so that we may achieve our optimum performance, yet is not afraid to joke in order to ease the pressure. As coach of the track team, Mr. Johnson can frequently be seen running alongside his athletes, offering words of encouragement to spur them on. Mr. Johnson is an individual who possesses that rare talent of always knowing what to say to make the other person smile. His classes are known for the unrestricted, creative, and free-flowing atmosphere which he fosters and believes to be essential for budding artists. We realize that this dedication cannot fully convey our gratitude to Mr. A1 Johnson for his tremendous contribution to our years at GCHS. They have performed at various parades including a Huntington competition in which they won Best musical selection and twirling combination . IN MEMORIAM DAVID KRONENBERG Last summer, as the result of a sudden illness, Glen Cove High School lost a beloved and dedicated teacher with the passing of David Kronenberg. He had been on the staff since 1969. He is remembered by his colleagues as always being ready to help, an understanding and compassionate man, a man of many facets who was always willing to share all that he had to give. He is remembered by his students with love and respect, as a teacher who obviously cared for their educational progress and their well-being. He was a man who was never too busy to listen to the problems of another, never too uncaring to take those problems to heart, and never unwilling to advise those who sought his counsel. He earned the respect of all those with whom he worked, student and faculty member alike. David Kronenberg's generosity, his empathy for others, and his deep love of his profession, were greatly appreciated. It is our singular good fortune to have known the man and his work.
