WE WHO GO BEFORE WILL TO THOSE WHO FOLLOW Since it is customary for those who pass through this fleeting and uncertain life to leave behind them some token of remembrance and some document to insure them of their departure, we, the Senior Class of 1951, realizing the nearing end of our bounteous years at Glen Alpine High School, do hereby decree this our Last Will and Testament. ARTICLE | To Mr. and Mrs. Young and the faculty, we leave our appreciation and thankfulness for your guidance and en- couragement that have made us better citizens in this world we will someday govern. ARTICLE II We extend to each grammar grade teacher our profound gratitude for establishing the intellectual and cultural realm of life. ARTICLE III To the classes: To our successors, the Juniors, we bestow upon you our rights, privileges, and dignity that we as seniors had. To the Sophomores, we leave our patience, the only means by which they can endure the Juniors. To the Freshmen, we bequeath all our dreams and un- achieved ambitions. To the persons concerned: Margaret Davis leaves her jolly giggles to Jewel Denney. I, Marlene Collins, will my vivacious curves and my ability to catch a man to Joan Owens. Clyde (Soak) Ollis’ ability to stretch the truth is left to Richard Parker, and his slim physique to Bobby Mills. (Hope it fits). Nancy Carswell leaves her flirtatious tendencies to Estelle Benfield. I, Jimmy Bennett, will my muscles to Earl 14 Lane, and my ability to sleep in Business English to anyone who needs it more than I. To David Jarrett goes Johnny Brown’s dignity and studious manners. The beautiful han d- writing of Frank Bright goes to anyone who still scribbles. Mary Etta Abernathy passes down her good looks to Edna Reep. Dolores Lloyd wills her love for the stronger sex to Eleanor Walton. Raymond Michaels bestows upon Bobby Beach his sweet disposition. Zora Mae Tate is the receiver of Jewel MHipps’ surplus boy friends. J. L. Ledbetter confers his ‘“‘little boy”? appearance to Russell Kincaid. John Henry Giles leaves his ‘‘come-hither” look to Miles Swink. Betty Mayfield bequeaths her ability to build air castles to Vivian Simpson. Mackie Reep leaves his debonair manners to Eddie Epley. I, Minnie Rhoades, bequeath my ability to keep quiet at the right time to Daisy Ethel Epley. Bob Nichols leaves to Allen Kincaid his most serious nature, realizing that even that will not be very serious. Mariana Perkins leaves her frequent smiles to Louise Duckworth. Wilma Jarrett confers her sweet temper to Anna Ruth Scott. Jane Childress bequeaths her brains of superior weight to Clarence Poteat, hoping that he will use them. I, Allen Browning, have nothing to leave so I'll just leave. Tommy Rich entrusts his ability to make love to anyone that can outdo him. Evelyn William is left Ruby Nell Scott’s ‘‘gift for gab.’ Charles Bennett confers his keen imagination to Virgil Pipes. Harry Lee White is the heir of Jo Billy Roper’s mischievious looks. Jannette Hall leaves her doorsteps to Joyce Queen. I, Joann Pollard, last but not least, leave all my fun in high school to Doris White. T estator JoaANN PoLiarp
