Mr. Quad- raccia, better known to most of us as Quad, has for the past several years worked very hard with the band and glee clubs. We have often forgotten to thank him for the countless things he has done for us, but we hope with this dedication we can make up for all the little things that have gone by unnoticed. Some of their duties were refereeing basketball games, volleyball games, and demonstrating the various exercises. 25 P1-ojectioniAtA The projector operators were a great aid to the school this year and were appreciated by everycne in the school. They ran the movie proiectors, both in the classroom and in assemblies, tock care cf reccrds at dances, and ran the tape recorder. Under the direction of Mr. Jchn Roberts they are learning new skills and at the same time furthering the audio-visual program of the school. Second row: J. McCullough, E. Brooks, R. Stagecl-ew Under the able direction of Mr. Arthur Salzman and Mr. John Robin- son, an excellent iob was clone by our stagecrew this year. Though these behind the scene workers may not be appreciated by many, they are of great importance in the assemblies. These boys set up scenery, work the lights and curtains, and make sure everything is running smoothly. They are truly the unacknowledged men behind the success of activities in the auditorium. 26 What It Was Was Football Crazy Rhythm Playmates lllawical Magic Our magic orchestra strikes a clownbeat, the mist clears, and the future of the Class of 55 is in view. The first vision that appears is of the plush cafe of Gare du Nord in Paris, France. Out- side the cafe we hear the lilting strains of the internationally known Moonmaids and Moon- men , under the direction of Joe Pociask. The Moonmaids are: Jolene Domerat, Geri Svatz, and Rita Mae Pasinski and the Moonmen are: Jim Mort, Arthur Wilks, and Frank Martinko. As we enter, our hats are taken by Helen Nolfi and Mary Tarli. The very attractive cigarette girls are Audrey Uhlig and Deanna Yacavace. We are greeted by Jack Smart, manager of the Gare du Nord , who informs us the owner of the cafe is Paul Fulmer, another graduate of 55 . The head garcon, Gary Cole, leads us to our table and serves us cocktails. We arrived iust in time for the floor show. The curtain goes up and in the spotlight we see Bill Kaltenbaugh as the Master of Ceremonies. He introduces the famous Metropolitan Opera Singer, Donna Kapphan, who has iust finished her European tour and is returning to fill an en- gagement at the Latin Quarter in New York. Next Bill introduces the current Bobby-Sox rage, The Three Glads , Mike Faychak, Jack Takaht, and Jimmy Nolfi. The third act is the Geneva Hol- stein Dancers , Marion Ross, Ruth Witkowski, Sandra Amore, and Lela Gill. Topping off the evening performance, Bill introduces the world famous pantomime artist, Fred Spicer, doing his standard Eddie Fisher version of Oh Mein Papa. As this enioyable evening comes to a conclu- sion the vision fades, the orchestra strikes an- other note, and our hotel comes in view. The Virtes Hotel, owned by Ronald Virtes, and man- aged by Kennard Gumbert, will be our castle for the night. The bell boy, Darwin West, takes our bags. The morning downs and our breakfast is served in the Breakfast Room by Rose Marie Adamick, Catherine Pavol, and Peggy Finney. After leaving the hotel, our wishes to visit a famous Paris Fashion Show are fulfilled. Upon entering the K 8tL Fashion Salon, we are seated by the famous designers, Barbara Kader and Marsha Laird. Their original designs are mod- eled by Margie Price, Nancy Kuder, and Delight Scklan. The advertising is done by the famous commercial artist, Mary Lou Williams. Next we visit a Paris Research Clinic. We see many nurses in the Timko Clinic, named after the research chemist, Mike Timko, from the Class of 55 . Supervising the nurses is Jean Fabry. Under her direction are Marlyn Bartels, Lavina Randolph, Patty Dannenhauer, and Mildred Dit- ter. The famous woman doctor, Pat Ercole is seen talking to the receptionist, Stella Gniaz- dowski. The head chemist is Jack Cavanaugh and under his supervision are Bob Bratton, Jerry Bittner, and Jack Jewart. As our informative day ends, this vision fades and we see a ship. The gang plank is low- Dance With Me Henry Till the End of Time Dear Hearts and Gentle People ered by two members of the crew, Frank Merta and Tony Mordecki. The Captain of the ship is Ronald Kendal and his able assistants are First Mate, Carl Kastan, Second Mate, Earl West, and other members of the crew are Martin Konowal- ski, Dan Siudela, Paul Deppenbrook, and Arnold Papernick. As we relax on our deck chairs we learn that our hostess for this trip is Judy Kass, who has planned enjoyable recreation for us. We are served lunch on the deck by the head waitress Helen Tudek and her co-workers Frances Panyzal, and Agnes Pasinski, under the guiding hand of the world famous Chef of Parisian foods, Phil Dunst, who has prepared our tasty lunch. ln the stateroom we see Peggy McHolme, surround- ed by French students. She is teaching them our American way of living. Aileen Ginevan was also on board teaching French History. A steward brings us the International News- paper, stating that the following are participat- ing in this year's Olympics, Bob Sherman, Bill McKee, and Bernie Baur, whose names are in- scribed in the Sports Hall Of Fame. Looking on the girls' sports side, we see members of the Girls' Athletic Association-Annette Tudek, Agnes Ja- kubek, and Vicky Maizer are gaining fame at the Olympics. This article was written by the International News Correspondent, Bob Shelby. At the close of another exciting day, we are out to see a dramatic presentation, directed by Frances Tiskiewic, and starring Helen Conomos and Russ Walters. Behind the curtain we see Carol Trunzo and Mary Lou Kapphan rehearsing for their part in the musical One Week ln Paris in which they do several dance numbers. We are surprised to see that Jack Victor and Henry Bonadio have formed a twosome and are star- ring in the same musical as modern dance ar- tists. Susan Kerber is the manager of the scen- ery for the production, while Marlene James and Balbina Kuzio are the make-up artists. Nancy Corridon does the hair styling. We leave the theatre to spend a few hours at the wrestling matches, to find Carl Zaleski matched against Jack McCullough. After this thrilling spectacle we go to Carl's dressing room. There we are greeted by his manager, Rodney Gill and find out that Red's manager is Harry Wisser, another Take Me Out to the Ball Game Dance With a Dolly When You're Smiling To The Tables Down at Morey's Work For the Night is Coming In The Good Old Summertime graduate of 55 . We spend a short time here and are off to the exquisite Klein-DeCarlo Men's Shop of which Stanton Klein and Joe DeCarIo are the proprietors. Under their employment we find Cassie Heckert and Rosemarie lntrieri as the chief bookkeepers. Here to show us the latest in men's clothing is Jack Katchmark and Don Phillips. Leaving the shop we come upon the gymnasium where we see Timmy Lokash and his head coach, Dick Muse, working out for Tim's champion boxing match which will go on within a few weeks. Angelo Demis is the director of the scholastic division. On the feminine side we discover Doris How- der, Doris Slafka, and Shirley Yesensky practic- ing their aquacade in which they do a trio num- ber. Champion diver, Beverly Hayes, will ap- pear as a special guest. Leaving the gym we travel next to the radio station, K.R.V., of which Alvin Schmotzer is the top sports announcer with Regis .lakubek and Ernie Brooks as the news- casters. As we wander through the station, we hear familiar voices belonging to Judy .lones and Maria Orlando. They have their own radio pro- gram called True Life In Paris. Between acts they are announcing the Vach-Galeza Bridal Shop, since this is their sponsor. We are delight- ed to hear that Martha Vach and Patty Galeza have formed an elaborate shop, showing with excellent taste, the newest Parisian bridal gowns. Pat and Martha tell us that they have chosen Al LoBue, as the head manager and buyer. Glenda Trumpe, no doubt, with her winning smile, will attract many a customer as she is his private sec- retary. A few hours later we drive to the open- house party Lucille Aubrecht is having at her elaborate home, honoring the comedians, Nancy Sample and Jack Palmer with Jack's singing star, Bernard Dworek. At the party we are intro- duced to many famous people, but wait! Some we know. Harry Howard, cartoonist, for the Larry Nosich cartoon production and Martha Dworek who is presently appearing in the Roller Derby. lt was a delightful party, and exhausted but happy we returned to the hotel to start our long journey home, well satisfied with the ac- complishments of the Class of 55 . The final vision and melody fade and the future of the Class of 55 is now behind us. Off We Go Teach Me Tonight Hey There! Clam o I9 6A TOP-Third Row: L. Marshall, D. Cross, P. Frobouck, L.
