THE CRCWD ABGVE lll'0 Olll' Seni or Ofzfem XVILLIAM COX President ROBERT ORMSBY VicefPresident ANNA YAVORSKY Secretary ANNE HORCHER Treasurer THE PRESIDENTS MESSAGE As the sculptor fashions his bit of clay into a finished piece of work, he lays it aside, content that he has put his best into it. So we, the members of the graduating class of '47, likened unto a piece of clay, have been molded and fashioned to com- pletion by the hands of the sculptors-e-our teachers, who have given each a part of himself, toward our completion. We are going out into a world of chaotic disagreements and misunderstandings and feel that the wisdom and learning, gleaned from our stay and associations in these U.H.S. Halls of Learning, has equipped us to meet the buffering of this world. The memories we shall retain from the comradeship of our fellow students, the loyalty to our Alma Mater instilled in us by our athletes in the various fields of competition, and the many pleasures we have enjoyed through the efforts of the various G.l'I.S. organizations shall be a source of gratitude to us through the coming years. The successful completion of our class functions could not have been attained but for the wisdom and untiring efforts of our class sponsors, and the members of the faculty, and the cooperation of the entire student body. Now we are about to take leave of our Alma Mater. To those who have done so much for us we say, not Farewell, for that seems so hnal, but-Au Revoir and Good Luck. W1LL1.AM F. Cox 5

LEON C. LUTZ SILVER NNIVERSARY We, the Class of '47, are proud to dedicate Maroon and Gold to our principal, Leon C. Lutz, on the anniversary of his twentyfhfth year at Glasshoro High School. Coming to Glassboro in 1922, Mr. Lutz taught Latin until February, 1927, when he became acting principal. Later that year he was appointed principal and has served since in that capacity. In March, 1929, he led the triumphal march of students to the new high school building at its present location. Mr. Lutz has done everything possible to make our stay pleasant and we ar: sure no one can forget Mr. Lutz on his visit to dog heaven to see Muggs or Mr. Lutz leading the group in his favorite cheer, Aka Laka Ching. No one can do it quite so well 'as Mr. Lutz. Thank you, Mr. Lutz, for the kindness, consideration, and patience you have shown us. G.H.S. would not he what it is today without your guidance and help CLASS or '47 4
