41' 4 lt is with keen regret that we record the death, November 23, 1951, of Mr. Blake E. Isley, Supervisor of Lynchburg Schools and Clerk of the I.ynchburg School Board since September, 194-1. Mr. Isley came to l.ynchburg from New- port News in 1922 as teacher of mathematics in this high school. ln 1923 he was made assistant principal and in 1941, principal. As a top flight math teacher, as organizer of the school band, as an enthusiastic supporter of all school and community projects, as a genuine friend, Mr. Isley will con- tinue to live in the memory of students and teachers fortunate enouffh to have known him. This organization is responsible for the development and maintenance of a school system adequate to meet the basic needs of the city of l,ynchburg. Its chief administrative officer is the Superintendent of Schools. Dr. Paul M. Munro, who came to Lynchburg in july, 1945, from the Superintendency of Schools in Columbus, Georgia. 1 3 l
