in tl FOREWQRD Dear Friends: We stand between a happy past and an unknown future. The comple- tion of high school is really just the commencement of our lives. What those lives are to be depends upon the foundations we have been building for them in our high school years. We are standing at an intersection of many roads. There is one right road for each of us to take, now is the time to decide what life calls us to do. After we have traveled a great distance, there is no turning back. When we first started high school, we were somewhat immature, and had been accustomed to think of ourselves as children. So much has been done for us, and there is so much more that we have been taught to do for ourselves, that we are leaving this school, feeling ourselves more nearly finished men and women, more nearly ready to take our places among the citizens of this vast world. To our teachers we would like to extend our earnest thanks. We can only express our feelings by saying, God bless you! To you, dear parents, we, the members of the graduating class of l958, wish to express our sin- cere gratitude and appreciation for your sacrifice. We know that you have made this sacrifice through the realization and foresight that it is from the visions of youth comes the inspiration to make tomorrow better than today. There is only one word more, and the last must be to you, dear classmates. Let us, as we part, pledge ourselves to remember all the true aims that have come alive in our work here together, and make our lives such as shall bring pride to our school and cause our teachers to be proud to remem- ber that they had a part in teaching us how, at least, to begin to live.
