The Glasgow Girls' Athletic Association is organized to promote a worth while sports program, to make worthy use of leisure time, to develop sportsmanship and skill in all sports, and to develop better individuals through healthful living. This year the G.A.A. has sponsor-ed dances, with their annual Sweater Swing as the outstanding occasion. An initiation and theater party were other events. The girls take an active part in all sports and receive awards accordingly. Girls receiving high-point awards are Jean Mc- Inerney, Gladys Johnson, Julene Rawe and Viola Russell. An Honorary Award winner is Nona Crain. U The Glasgow G.A.A. is steadily increasing in membership each year. The G-Club is made up of boys who have been awarded a letter in one of the following sports: football, basketball or track. To become a member one must pass through the initiation and then have a two-thirds vote of the G-Club members. At all the home football -and basketball games, the G-Club boys sell programs and keep order with their paddles. tDon't get rowdy kids-these really hurt.J The G-Club also spon- sors an annual G-Club dance. AGNES FUHRMAN HOMECOMING KING HOMlECOMlNG AND QUEEN' ki I l ., Q King and Queen crowned as attendants look on-left to right: Bill Sternhagen, Betty Billingsley, Dave Bundy, Garth Maag, Agnes Fuhrmlan, Dorothy Briggs, and Grace Caricaburu. ' This year saw the beginning of something we all 'hope will become a tradition in G.H.S.- the Homecoming. The theme was Roundup and western clothes were the order of the day for faculty and students both. Homecoming activities began Friday, Oct. 18 with a pep assembly, after which the entire school, led by the band, Marched up to the Big G where the Freshmen gave it it's annual facelifting. That night at 7:30 there was a huge bon-fire and the announcement was made that Garth Maag and Agnes Fuhrman had been elected Homecoming King and Queen. Saturday was highlighted by a pep parade and a snake dance in the business district, featuring special floats made by the home rooms and clubs of the school. A prize was awarded to the Junior Class for the best float. The main feature of the Homecoming was the football game between Missoula and Glasgow, which ended with Glasgow on the short end of the 31-7 score. During the half, the coronation ceremony was held ,4 . we King and Queen by the busi- ness men of Glasgow. The festivities ended with a dance at the Civic Center where the King and Queen led the Grand March. B s -17- GARTH MAAG and gifts were given to the qr 4
