The actors were Jim Barnes a homesteader, Fabian Nyquist: Sally Barnes, his wife, Lyola lVIcCleeryg Tessie Barnes, their daughter, Frances Ann Shambaughg Carl Carlson, a neighbor boy, Marvel Bjorklund. The third, The Sound and the Fury, a comedy by Jackson Wright, was set in the drawing room of the Dartmouth's in one of New York's most expensive ho- tels. Paul Dartmouth, the actor, was Charles Bunting Cheryl Barnsworth, the acress, Leona Covey: Peekums, the Pekinese, a dogg Ellen, the maid, Ruth Ness: Richard Baxter, a young man, Gordon Vallandigham. Many Appear in Dramatic Club Performances The Dramatics Club has scored three public presenta- tions during the course of this school year, under the di- rection of Eugene R. Hunton. Besides these outstanding productions, the club has held meetings regularly every two weeks, at which problems of dramatics were dis- cussed, a program given, games played for recreation and a lunch served. The club 'has selected a pin for the members. Because of the success of the production, the space in this magazine will be devoted to those who took part in the plays. The first play presented this year was a three- act play by Aurania Rouverol named lt Never Rains. The members of the cast were Mabel Rogers, Patsy Jean Campbell: Savannah, Helyn McMillan: Henry Rogers, Charles Bunting Jimmy Rogers, Robert Rundle: Norleen Sears, Helen Brynildsen: Clara Donovan, Marie Hall: Walter Donovan, Sid Friedl: Dorothy Donovan, Peggy Onberg: Dane Lawson, Fabian Nyquist: Margaret, Helen Lambert: Gale, Ruth Ness: Mary, Loyola McCleery: col- lege girls, Margaret Boub, Kathryn Puchalla, Frances Ann Shambaugh: assistant cheer leaders, Mark Etchart, Melford jones. On the production staff were: Mildred Weiss, prompter: Edward McGlochlin, scene design, with Lyola McCleery, Laura Egstad, Bob Larson and Kathryn Puchalla, assistants: Bob Mills, stage manager, with Laura Egstad, assistant: Gordon Vallandigham, property man- ager, with Margaret Boub, Lorraine Jensen and Ruth Ness, assistants: Francis Hammerness, business manager, with Doris Peterson, assistant: Francis Shambaugh, cos- tumes, with Esther Dascher, assistant: Harry Hall, elec- trician: Marvel Bjorklund, sound effects. Action of the play takes place in the living room of the Rogers' bun- galow, just outside Los Angeles. Act. l is in late after- noon: Act ll in the evening, one week later: Act III the following Tuesday night. The play was given Decem- ber 2 I. X The second presentation was a group of one-act plays, given March 24. The first, Submerged, a tragedy, was by H. Stuart Cottman. It takes place in the compartment of a submarine on the bottom of the ocean.
