A HAPPY BIRTHDAY Scotty is three years old this spring and is growing rapidly as the years roll by. Scotty's staff has grown from the original eleven members to one approaching eighty. Of the original staff only Emma Olinger and Sid Friedl, remain. At present the staff is divided into five departments: Editorial, business management, photography, sales and secretarial. Each of these departments is headed by a competent manager, who has full charge. This is a great improvement from the arrangement of the first staff, with the editor as manager of all departments. Quill and Scroll pins are being presented to Emma Olinger and Sid Friedl for their co-operation and lead- ership as co-editors of the Scotty. Kathleen Gallagher, Priscilla Pease, Barbara Anderson, Carroll Brant, Walter Larson and Lyola McCleery are seniors and will be missed in years to come. Happy Birthday, Scottyg may the coming years bring greater progress. ATTENTION , SUBJECTS! Lights! Camera! Actionl Here comes one of the pho- tographers with the camera all ready to snap. just watch the fraidy-cats dodge him, while others look at him just in case the camera did snap. Mr. Griffin's latest triumph was the organizing of the Camera Club. This is only one of many evidences of Mr. Griffin's ingenuity. lf there was any work to be done, Griff did it. The members of the Camera Club were drawn from persons interested in photography. Meetings are held once a week and lunch is served once a month. Don't let anyone kid you that boys can't serve a lunch. Officers elected for this year are: Robert Hurly, master bellows: Walter Larsen, master lensg B. Cabell, master shutter, and Gene Coleman, master rangefinder. The Camera Club has complete supervision of pictures for the Scotty, but it seems that Mr. Griffin is the one who should receive a great deal of credit for the pictures for, as it was noticed, he worked both day and night just to get the pictures out. The editors wish to thank the Camera Club for help- ing to make this Scotty a volume of different and inter- esting pictures as well as Writeups. STUDENTS RESPOND T0 CLEAN-UP DAY When students of Glasgow High make up their minds, there is no stopping them. This is clearly shown in the immaculate grounds, shining new posts, clean windows and desks -t'he result of clean-up day. Except for a few blisters and callouses, the students remained unharmed. Yesterday l saw a pair of very blistered hands pick up several small scraps of paper the wind had blown in. l wonder if she didn't rake. Those hands were certain evidence. . Clean-up day is a new idea here, but the Scotty is sure it will be continued, in view of the neat and tidy school building and grounds. Three cheers for Glasgow High! Who says they haven't pride in their school? - Betty Ann Molvig,'43.
