PERSONNEL OF ORCHESTRA N a setting of old Vienna, soft lights and enchanting music, many of Glas- gow's residents enjoyed an informal social evening in the high school audi- torium on February 7. The occasion, A Night in Vienna, was presented by the home economics and music departments of the school. At intervals throughout the evening, student dancers were featured in the waltz and minuet to the strains of Memories of Vienna. Richard Larson played two piano solos during the intermission. Glasgow teachers were 'hosts and hostesses. A delicious dinner was served at candle-lighted tables by waitresses dressed in peasant aprons and caps. After eating, the guests adjourned to the balcony to visit with friends and listen to the music. Enthusiastic applause greeted William Lee as he directed his orchestra through selections of Viennese and light classical music. A Night in Vienna was one of the most successful musical events held in the Glasgow school in many years. -24-
