G.P.H.S. Is a Special School. . . She's Reall Great WE COOPERATE ..... Northwest, Northeast, Southeast, Southwest! We, all five hundred of us, come to Girls Polytechnic from every section of Portland to attend classes recfuired on the basic high school curriculum and to take advantage of the special courses available. We have a large variety to choose from-commercial foods, merchandising, fashion and commercial clothing, secretarial science, business machines, dental science, and practical nursing. Upon graduation every maior may be considered terminal, or, if we wish, we may go on to college to earn a degree in our chosen field. We all cooperate as we study, work and have fun together. This year we have fifty-six additional seniors from seven other high schools who share in our cooperative program. These girls divide their day between Girls Polytechnic and their own school as they maior in dental science, practical nursing or business machines. While they are here, they gain more friends and develop confidence and new skills through specialized training for future employment. . . with other city high schools in the cooperative program. Here- senior girls come mornings to take dental science and business machines. Practical nursing is shared in the afternoonsw . . . to become better acquainted with each other. Both Roma Menold, left, of Girls Poly and Joyce Koster, Washington senior, who chat outside the bookroom, take dental science.
