UA!! Z? CVM This year has been a xery pleasant one fi r our happy-go-lufflxy class. Our class activities. presided over by our president. Billie Ballard. were directed by Miss Sir. our class adxisor. This year has brought out many distinguishing eharaeteristies in us. Almost any Tuesday afternoon during the fifth period you might have found Peggy Fisher, Louise Ames. and Mary Louise Wvise peering at ueayorting lieastiesu under the micro- scope: and if you would have dared to poke your head into our Latin class, you would undoubtedly have heard Marilyn Rennex explaining to Miss Kessler that the sentence she had given her was the only one she eouldnit do. However. in the IEW French class. we are all very grateful for her knowledge of lfreneh. While we are discussing classes, we almost give a recommendation to Peggy Fisher, without whose excellent coaching certain members of our geometry class would undoubtedly have received lower marks, Although we probably were not the best behaved class in the school, we really love old GLS. and just want to brighten it up a bit. me MMA gm e This year, for the first time in the history of the school, the first year of high school was next to the last year. This came about because we Hninesf' crowded out of our homeroom by the B class, had to move, bag and baggage, into the outer senior room. Prohalily the seniors did not like this, but we did. They did not seem to mind too much though. for they were very nice to us. Throughout the year we have tried in many ways to please our advisor, Miss Ressineyer. At the liulloweien party we did our best to win the first prize for our skit, A Night at the Movies . but as luek would have it, we did not get any prize. At Christmas we did manage to distinguish ourselves by having the largest basket, to be given to the poor. of any 4-lass in the sc-hool. We tried to do our share for the Red Cross and the Soldiers' Book Drive. At the end of the year we tried to impress Miss Ressmeyer with our abilities as hostesses to the seniors at the pienic we gave in their honor. and we think that we did. ive were especially sorry to see this year's senior class leave us, because we were so unusually close to them. 28
