She has already taken her lessons in getting used to the ups and downs of life by working as an elevator operator during her Sophomore year. That twinkle in her eyes betrays her ambition to be in the air. After an enioyable day at school, Syksie likes to go bowling, or ice skating, or even horse- back riding. By the way, if you should see a streak of lightning whiz past you and still feel it ten minutes later, it's lust Syksie, piloting her way through to class. ACTIVITIES: Elevator Operator l, 2. Lou's fairly quiet and unas- suming, a pleasant addition to a group. She watches the problems of life as they evolve before her on the screen, or even in the novels, for Lou is a bookworm, too, She takes time out to follow the tempo of a dance orchestra, comprising the last of her three favorite diversions. May Lou find her hopes realized, We wish her luck in her future life. She used up the energy that she never seems to be with- out in weaving needle and thread in and out, putting the light over her left shou der to read, listening carefully to the radio, gaining the couples on the dance floor, and baking mouth-watering choco- late cakes, Tes likes languages, and wants to be an interpreter of Italian. She's studied the language, and the na- tives of that sunny land have nothing on her--she speaks so fluently it makes your head spin! Tessie's characteristic shy smile has been ever-present here, and she'Il keep it with her. Tessie deserves the realization of her ambitions, and our fervent best wishes go with the girl whose pleasant manner will always be remem- bered by us. She is in the commercial course and wants to further her education by going on to a business school. Our Dody is really sharp. Being a neat dresser and a good looker isn't all-she makes friends with everyone, everywhere, at any time. She'd like to be a career woman, and we know that she'Il succeed. She goes to dances and skating rinks quite often. You can always tell when she's Corning by the sound of a girl's voice humming a very latest tune. She's in the commercial course and would like very much to be one of the Qirls behind the counter, doing saleswork. We know that people will enioy being waited on by the girl with the quiet manner. She is as enthusiastic about plays as she is about dancing, and she especially likes to read in her spare time. For two years the girls have chosen Spoony for their Student Councilor, They made a wise choice in their selection.
