BARBARA SCOLPONETTI 3l May Street, Jamaica Plain Barbie came to G,H.S. back in I945g during her stay here she has established herself firmly in the hearts of all her school chums. Along with brains, Bar- bie has a shyness ab0ut her, which con- trary to standing in her way in making friends, has helped her as part of her own special charm. Barbie has been a familiar figure around these halls. She's a fun-loving gal and goes to loads of B.U, hockey games, particularly to root for her pal, the favorite star, She has a pretty good bowling average, and can really whoop it up at a football game. When it comes to baseball, it's strictly the Braves, particularly since she met Billy Southworth. Barbie has enrolled at Katherine Gibbs and hopes to be o suc- cessful secretary, and we, her friends, feel confident that with her quiet charm, Barbie can't possibly miss. SESSOMS 30 Ball Street, Roxbury Sess is that kind of person that can make you feel happy no matter how blue things looked before she came along. She is taking the commercial course and in- tends to go into office work next year. Even when enjoying her hobbies of ska- ting ond dancing, Sess never stops clown- ing and poking. Some office staff de- pressed with stuffy rooms and noisy type- writers will welcome this girl as a morale lifting diversion, as well as an able worker.

She oves it, and her versatil- ity in the fine arts of dancing and sing- ing are proved by her membership in the Shaw House, which performs annually at Jordan Hall. She has also demonstrated her dramatic ability in the G.H.S. follies and Junior and Senior Parties. She likes dancing, singing, dancing, dramatics, dan- cing, and having fun. MARGARET SMITH ll Spring Garden Street lt's Margie, ice cream, and cake that form a well known trio, because as the young lady says, that's her hobby. How- ever, even Margie admits that she can't spend the rest of her life following that delightful occupation, so she's going tc prepare herself to answer the challengc of the business world next year. The clicking of typewriters will be caused by her busy fingers, and the scribbled short- hand notebook will probably have Mar- gie's name in the corner, for Margie lists being a secretary as her ambition. Mar- gie visits local dance floors, and rinks, and finally wears out her loafers walking. ACTIVITIES: Alumnae Association l'llYl,l,lS SPATARO IIO Paris Street, Boston Petite little Phyl, with av voice made for singing the latest songs! She's en- tertained us since the time she was a sophomore, first by being in our G.H.S. F0llies that year, then in the Junior Party, and once more in our Follies of '48, Added to that she's displayed her talents on the air with her sisters in Carl Moore's Beontown Variety. Phyl's voice isn't her only asset, however, for she is fun to know, fun to be with. She reads, accompanies herself on the piano, then adds a few sports: swimming, bike-riding. and playing baseball. The settlement house has received the benefits of PhyI's work, and a Summer Playschool for chil- dren used Phyl's abilities as an assistant teacher. Phyl's future plans center on either social or office work, but Phyl. being the airl she is, will find her place in either field, and make a success of her chosen career. ACTIVITIES: Literary Staff, Yearbook, Dramatic Club, Senior Play 4, Treasurer, Senior Class. IRENE B. SPIEIQEI, 2l Eaton Street, Boston Renee is quiet, serious, and pleasant. Dramatlcs furnish the greater part of her outside interests, for she belongs to a dramatic club in a settlement house, and she can be found watching plays, happily seated in the audience.
