Chickie cheered the goal with the rest of her team, for it meant the winning of the game for them at the Shaw House. The next day we find our Chuckie engaged in quite a dif- ferent occupation. She is in the Neigh- borhood House instructing a nursery class, she says she hopes to gain volu- able experience here for the time when she will become a nurse. In the general course now, Chuckie hopes to enter into training at the Boston City Hospital. At present she is preparing for the time when she must leave al her associates at G.H.S., by collecting photographs of her friends. JOAN MOORE 42 Horadon Way, Roxbury Quiet spoken Joan, known to some as Demosthenes, has accomplished much in her school years. Joan is a star debater and, when a sophomore, represented our school in the Old South Meeting House Oratorical Contest, winning second prize. She was also heard on the Junior Town Meeting of the Air and lt's Up to Youth on the air. She is a member of the Y.W.C.A., takes sewing lessons, and plays the piano. In dramatics, Joan is a star. Her future ambition is to enter B.U. Her secret ambition, however, is to be carried off by a romantic adventurer and sail the seven seas. ACTIVITIES: A.A. 4, Distaff: English Club, Classical Club, Debating Club 2, 3, 4 fPresidentJ, Dramatic Club, Senior Play, Junior and Senior Party Committee, Honor Roll I, Student Council 2. RUTH MORGAN Ruthie II2 Brook Avenue One thing that stands out about Ru- thie is, that once you have met her, you do not forget her. This something about her has drawn friends to Ruthie since she entered the commercial course here. Next year, she's going ta enter the busi- ness world and become o stenographer. We hope that when she does become o woman of the world earnin her own money that she won't forget tie way she now thrills to the opening kick in every football game, for that is one of Ruthie's favorite sports, We certainly hope that we'll see her at all the local battles yel- ling and freezing with the rest of us. EILEEN MORRIS ullepn 9 Foyer Street, Boston Lee, beside her other achievements and proficiency in tennis, swimming, ice-ska- UQ Und Skiing, will be remembered by us as old faith ul, for Lee was one of our girls who could always be depended upon. Perhaps it was for this latter reason that she was chosen for the Student Council, an honor she handled capably. This qual- ity of hers should also carry her far in the business world. She plans to enter, come graduation, from Boston Clerical School, Perhaps when she's fulfilled her education, she'll be able to take time out to get in that longed for traveling. BARBARA MICIIAELS Blondie 2-fl West Third Street, Boston The audience was applaudungg Barbara had just finished singing at the Senior Party. lt was not the furst time Blondue had heard the sound of applause, for she has sung on many radio programs. She's so good that she has even had an audu- tuon for Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scout Program. Next year after she leaves the commercial course, Barbara would like to sung un musical comedies, or teach voice. We hope she chooses the former, for she should bring that lovely voice to the stage so that we would all have a chance to applaud again the voice that was made familiar to us at the Junior and Senior parties. TIIELMA MIDDLETON 47 Hoskins Street, Boston The old nursery rhyme she'lI sut on a cushion and sew a fine seam well ap- plies to Veston, for she wants and in- tends to become a seamstress after grad' uation. Veston, who does very well un the commercial course, doesn't sut de- murely sewing all the tume, however. She loves basebal and a sunny spring day wull fund her cheering her team on from her seat or showing her stuff by batting those homers herself at the neighborhood lot. MARY MILANO Mary Lou l Washington Avenue, East Boston When she's not engaged in learning new dance steps or bowling, she can be found devouring dishes of fried clams to replenish the energy expounded un get- ting those high bowling scores. Mary Lou plans to continue with her educa- tion next year, to insure the fulfillment of her ambition to be an efficient secre- tary. The future will no doubt find Mary taking dictation and pounding a type- writer, and the big smile ou'll see her wearing will mean that slue's achieved her ambition at last. Don't kill mel Sitting next to her radio, listening to this mystery thriller, as she does to them all, is Gwen. She says they're always interfering with the homework she has to do, much against her wull. Gwen's ambition, how- ever, does not lie along such garish lines. Wherever the fu- ture finds this pleasant, soft-spoken miss, our wishes for luck and success follow, for she truly deserves it.
