Mary secured 10.900 votes. She was presented With a monogramed sweater by the staff. Gthers who took part in the drive were: Amelia Regan, Lucille Ryan, Mary Sullivan, Ellen Gaul. Julia O'- Connell. Elsie McGrath and Dorothy Nevin. The winner and all contest- ants are to be complimented on their co-operation and display of sports- manship. WINNER OE ANNUAL DRIVE In the drive conducted to secure subscriptions for the year book, Mary Miller. captain of the Junior classicals, secured 100 per cent from her class first. 1-Ier quota was turned in four hours after the drive started. A prize was awarded to Mary at a general as- sembly. Mary has always been an ardent worker for the Centralite , being de- feated in her Freshman year by a slight margin for the title Miss Centralitef' Elizabeth Coburn, business man- ager, very ably conducted the drive. Jack- son, had a most successful year. Practice was held every Tuesday and Thursday. Soon after its organization the following officers were elected: Monica Prendergast, president: Gloria Sullivan. vice-president: Audrey Sheehy, secretary: Loretta Lane. treasureri and Helen Barry, librarian. Besides entertaining at numerous school activities, including the operetta, the declamation contest, and the commencement exercises, the orchestra also played for the Daughters of lsabella, the plays given by the Saint Marys and Saint Josephs dramatic clubs, the concert at Saint James' Hospital, and the Women's Catholic Welfare Council. The Trapper's Christ- mas was the title of her story. It was a tale of the Christmas time in the icy Northlands and related how a little child brought happiness to the home of an aged trapper who had lost his only son. The five best stories in each Eng- lish class were entered in the contest. and the staff had a wealth of material from which to choose. 1...-, . ',x... ..4.n. FRANCES MORAN SENIOR FROLIC RITA KELLEY The K. C. gym was the scene of a lively affair when the girls' frolic was held there on the evening of April 17. The entertainment consisted of dancing and stunts given by the classes. The prize for the best stunt Went to the Freshmen, who presented School Days. Rita Kelley a Fresh- man, won the prize for the best cos- tume. She Was garbed as The Spirit of Spring. The music was furnished by a special school orchestra. Refreshments were served at eleven o'clock. Those in attendance pronounced the frolic the best ever.
