Loretta Racick The Sesquicentennial Girard's Sesquicentennial parade in September was one of the most colorful and gala occasions in the city's history. Thousands lined State Street to witness the splendor and pag- eantry of this historic event. Girard High was represented officially by an artistic float, depicting the progress of public education in Ohio from 1803 to 1953, by the popular Girard High School Band, and by the lovely Sesquicentennial queen, Loretta Racick, attended by Ruth Anderson and Freida Perechlin. Unofficially, GHS Seniors supplied atmosphere by their more or less luxurious beards. and 1110 1 oafs worlc was on. The Sescui Celebraticm started the 1 ear's urn. J . ALJL
