(9n Qfis SR ehrement James Banie has said that memory is given to us that we may have roses in December. Mr. H. Emory Wagner Mr. H. Emory Wagner as a teacher of Hummers for thirty-nine years has been an optimist rather than a defeatist; he has believed in the capacity of his boys to do good work and be good people. It is in the aura of this belief that generations of Hummers have sat under him in his classes—and we fortunately are among them. He is one of a group of great teachers who for more than a century have nourished the strength of Girard. We shall in time find that he has given us our roses in December.
