We started . . . With fear and trembling we accepted our initia- tions at the freshman reception and in came the class of 1945. Mr. Gubser as our advisor and Marietta Dodge as president helped us blunder through our freshman year. We started off with class dues paid 100 per cent. We did our bit toward the war effort by making boxes for soldiers and canvassing the town for scrap paper. Hill Billy Band, Girls' Wrestling Match, Girls in Army Life, and Abdol Yokie were high lights of our assembly, the first sponsored by a freshman class. A successful record dance added to our outstanding freshman year. The most original endeavor of this year was Sophomore Big Week . Re- members the swell picnic on the lawn and the keen competion with the bean jar? Five days of fun were topped off with our annual assembly. We also started a few sophomore traditions along the Way with class emblems and a Serv- ice Flag. Upper Classmen . . . Selling soda pop at sports events and sponsoring a Jun- ior Dance, at which we made S671 financed our big moment, the Junior-Senior Prom. We think our prom, with its old-fashioned garden setting .was one of the best in many years. Seniors . . . John Galli as president of our class refereed our class, meetings, which sometimes became near riots, but in the end we all agreed and came through on the beam. We assisted the choir in sponsoring the annual Christmas Gift Program when Mary jane took the part of Mary, and Hubert was Joseph in the panto- mine of the Christmas story. Hearts fluttered fast on Valentine Tag Day, but senior hearts stood still as the freshman hearts captured most of the prizes. Sock Hop . . .Again something original. More blisters and aching arches were enjoyed after this dance than any other. Baccalaureate services suddenly made our dream seem real. Graduation brought our high school life to a close. To earn this title We picked tomatoes, sold singing valentines, and con- tributed to many worthy causes. We did this under the leadership of Dushan f Dude y Dick j Angius. Handicapped during our second year by the absence of our president, Keith Hadley, we won recognition, nevertheless, for the best record in bond selling. We also gave the first basketball dance, and a St. Patrick's Dance. . Led by Russell McJunkin, Jr., during our third year, we gave a Halloween Masque- rade Ball, several basketball dances, and, finally, the Junior-Senior Prom, the novel theme of which was the Redwood Forest . A Scholastically the class won distinction this year by four members being awarded membership in the C. S. F., three of them also being elected officers of that organization. Dude Angius, presidentg Ben Clark, vice-president, Gail Grodhaus, Secretary-treasurer. In sports, Bill Richardson was co-captain of the Varsity Basketball team and Dude, Angius was co-captain of the 30's . AGUJXUIYXUTGD SOPHOMORE CLASS BACK now: R. Holloway, A. Coutinho, T. Giminez, P. HlSTORY OF THE' CLASS OF I947 ,The traditional Freshman Reception welcomed us to high school. Under the leadership of our president, Jack'Angius, we sponsored a successful dance. ' Our next project was participation in the Fourth War Loan Drive. We rank- ed second in the school in the bond selling campaign. qui- class diminished in the second ye ar of high school-there were 39 boys and 36 gir s. This year we planned a Winter Festival Ball, enlivened by something new-an intermission program, which furnished gaiety and entertainment. Class emblems, designed by Phil Lawton, were purchased by a majority of the members of the class. ' Elf I1 HISTORY OF THE CLAS S OF I948 We were welcomed into high school with the traditional Freshman recep- tion. We soon achieved recognition by leading the honor roll and by four of our class members becoming C.S.F. members. Our Suzanne Rycraft was the only student to get all A's both semesters. With Quen Young leading our class meetings we planned our first big dance- April Showers . The feature of this dance was the mystery tunnel. vi H f in Q ?!' Q.
