Those bull sessions after lunch, the Glee Club, the community study reports, and those other afternoon activities com' plete our picture of the Gilman day. Ach, letics, the varsity games, that tense feeling before the season opener, that glorious feeling that follows victory, and that sink, ing sensation that follows defeat help to round out our recollections. Nor did the day end at supper time. Many of us had things to do. Those agonized screams issued by members of The News staff will probably echo down the corridors for years to come as future News staffers try to get out another edition, those Tuesday night sessions of the literati of the Literary Club, the octet rehearsals, and those long, hard nights of study, which we tend to magnify in retrospect, will never be forf gotten. The college boards, the exams, opening night of the Dramatic Associaf tion's annual production, and our Sixth Form speeches combine with the various dances of the year and that glorious feeling that comes when you get your diploma to make up our recollections of our years at Gilman. As we leave our high school environf ment, we leave many good friends whose memories we will cherish, but we feel that we are not leaving Gilman entirely, for we are taking some of Gilman with us as we go our separate ways. Vvfe would also like to think that we have left something of us at Gilman and that we will be rememf bered by those who remain, and that next year's crop of seniors will have as pleasant a final year as we have had. The traditional speaking clubs were retained, but the procedure for admitf tance was modified, membership being limited to thirtyfsix boys, eighteen being appointed to the Pnyx and eighteen to the Areopagus.
