Freshmen Closs History Two boys Remue Fortun and Melvun Soucue dued of appendscutus The freshman class sent altar cards as theur token of fruendshup and sorrow Melvun Soucue was the football team s mascot so the boys of that team acted as pallbearers at hus funeral He dued the day before Thanksguvung November 28 l934 Remue Fortun was an actuve member of the class and was luked by all wuth whom he came un contact Some of the boys of the class acted as pallbearers at the funeral Remue dued Sunday evenung February l7 There are now suxty fuve members un the freshman class The week after school began we voted for class offucers Harold Classen was elected presudent Ethel Suska secretary treasurer and Mary Savoue vuce presudent Our class also voted for a member of the student councul Verna Freruchs was chosen to take that posutuon Most of us felt rather out of place at furst but now we feel quute at home The class for the most part can now be looked upon as a credut to the school not just because of the large enrollment but because of the scholarshup as we Our class members have taken part un many of the school actuvutues unclud urug Clee Club C- A A Dramatuc Club Curls Basketball Boys Basketball Football and Baseball The freshman party was held February l4 l935 un the hugh school gym nasuum The party proved to be a bug success and everyone enuoyed humself The day beung St Valentune s Day the refreshments were un harmonuzung de sugn and colors Muss Muller the class advusor had charge of the freshman assembly un Aprul The commuttee decuded on two short comedy stunts whuch were not unstructuve but appropruate for freshmen FIRST WAS a BABY SHOW un WHICH sux of the largest boys were babues and sux of the smallest gurls were the proud and boastful mothers The other stunt consusted of verses from mother goose Sux freshmen who umpersonated mother goose characters told uokes un rhyme about people un the school A large number of the freshmen took part un the operetta whuch was held Aprul l2 l935 Vuncent Vougt Next to a beautuful gurl what do you consuder the most untercstung thung, the world?
