W ii-'L' ssfros crass PROPHVCV 4 Spring has come once again, 1t's the year 1960 like any other year but We Varilee and Vrra, two from Gilman High, after tolling over our hot cook little ones underfoot have decided to get away from It started just graduates of '52 stoves and 1th it all and go on a long trip, to California After oaczing our bare and giving our hubbies our final instructions, we set off for the station The taxi had us there in no time and whil in line waiting for tickets some rude man came QWSHIRQ ove and nearly knocked us off our feet 'e were about to give nir a piece of our minds when e realized who he was nore other tnan Donn Gould Gable, an old classmate of ours While conversing we foun out why Donn w s in such a hurry he was scheduled to begin is latest picture, LOVE 'PV and LPAVV 'VY the next day Finally we got omr t1cwets,waved goodbye to Donn and boarded the Rock Ve then found our seats and settled down for the lor? trio ahea of us The conductor soon came along to get our tickets He was a handsome fellow, and looked rather farlliar Yes' he was familiar he was Verrill Speaa another of our had haooened to get the Job and told ue he had a fascination for is poor eye sight he' couldn't job Being normal we soon got old souoolmates We asked hi how he how long he had been there Merrill trains since a small boy Because of be an engineer so took the next beet hungry so headed for the dining car We foun a table where a lone woman was sitting She looked very so phisticated but it was the only table not fall S e lunked our selves down Tnls was our day of fate because here was another class mate Margaret Carlson Ve found her to be a famous sirger with the Metropolitan Opera Company She worked when she wasn't traveling ith her rich husband Jr Rockefeller, who had to change climates ever so often because of a disease, richmanitis Soon after eating dinner we arrived in Reno Ie told Margaret good b and set off to do some sight seeing The fire thing ve want ed to o was visit some of these big gambling places The first one we stepped into was what was called the Loaded Dice Club While watch ing them play, a man came up to us and asked if we would like to sit in a game Well, low and behold, if it wasn't Merle Dougherty We found out through Merle that he, LeRoy, and Dave owned the Club Merle welcomed the guests, Dave took in the money, and LeRoy kept peace in the place We went to a side table and sat down to talk about the old days They told us how the rest of the '52 class were faring Nancy, with her husband Paul in Texas, were rearing their future basketball team of girls Phil was owner of the famous X Bar X Dude Ranch near Cheyenne Norma Elliott was teaching country school not too far from Phillipls ranch What do you suppose the future fortells??? Two of our Classmates who weld been keeping in touch with, were Margaret Paul and Harley Everts Harley was back in Iowa where he and his wife are living on a farm They've made an addition to the farily too two sets of twins Margaret is in New York working in a hospital as a dieticlan She is now engaged and plans soon to marry her Doctor fiance Ue had found that we had talked so long and time had flown so fast that we had only 15 minutes to catch a train to finish our trip to California We got there just in time and after getting ourselves settled down we started talking about all that had happened and all the old classmates we'd met Guess this was our trip of fortune and surely we were going to have as good a time as we'd had so far ,A -ll ., Q 's 5 Q' 'I' - ' Q .' i' O ' .
