They are Donald Crawford, Geneva Hill, Kenneth Lavender, Jean Lovl Frank Patterson, James E Paul, James L Paul, Dale Stonewall, and obert Stonewall Our activities as seniors included having our class pictures taken by the Troy Mack Studio of Eldcra, publishing thls annual, presenting the senior class play, attending the Junior Senior Banquet as guests of the Juniors, skip day, class night, baccalaureate and, finally, commencement SENIOR CLASS PPOPHECY Back in the spring of l9U8 twelve talented seniors emerged from the noisy halls of glorious Gilman High Since that fateful day these people have embarked upon successful careers, contrary to all predictions about their futures My work with 'lho's Who and Who Cares?' has brought me in touch with all of these individuals, either by assignment or by chance My story beglns when I left my Chicago office to spend a week ln the great city of New York, where I was assigned to interview a cer tain Mr Lavender To my complete surprise lt was THE Kenneth Laven der, graduate of Gilman High I learned that Kenney ls now a well known figure in the dancing world and has established Lavender danc ing schools all over the United States They resemble those of Ar thur Murray but the modest Kenney says that there ls no comparison After flnlshlng my chat with my old acquaintance I walked down Broadway and The Great White Way Suddenly I saw ahead of me in glimmering necns a name which seemed to be familiar It was Frankie Patterson, all time crooner of popular songs of the hoop skirt era, and now starring in a current musical called 'Boots and Saddles ' I decided to lntervlew Boots, as he was affectionately referred to in the old days He had evidently reached the summit of success but as we talked Boots told me that all his fame was due tc the work of his press agent, Donald Dewitt Boots also told me that Donald now Browsing through this paper one day I saw an article about local street cleaner who found a note book containing valuable atomic formulas The name of the public servant was Robert Carey A plc ture of the owner was on the front page and lt looked vaguely faml llar, so I read the caption Lo, and behold it was Donald Crawford As I read I found that he ls now an up and coming physicist of the day Despite prcphesles of his teachers Donald is now considered a second Einstein, due to the fact that he has completed a fifth dl menslon My stay in New York came to an end so I taxled to Grand Central Station where I caught a train for Chicago The train was quite crowded, but I finally managed to secure a seat with a comely soln sterlsh young lady whom I recognized to be Geneva Hill I learned trat Geneva's work slnce graduation has been mostly missionary work lng among the Zulus who regard her as one of them She has taken it upon herself, however to do some detective work for Jerry Colona to help him find Caroline She said that her secret amblmon has always been to become a second Sherlock Her latest conquest was K ontlnued on next page? 3. E. 1 ' . 0 known as a second Billy Rose, writes a column for the New York Tlmes. SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY fC0ntlnuedJ in aiding Jean Lovig Woman Crime Doctor in the conviction of some of Amer1ca's worst social pests Jean I learned has offices 1 Anaheim Azzuza and Kukamonga' Geneva had evidently kept in touch with the events concerning her former class mates She was able to give me current history re garding almost all of them She volunteered that Jon Ramsey is now a famous plastic surgeon, engaged in making people as attractive as he His assistant. James E Paul has just recently given up this work to become the natlon's leading author and short story writer His re cent novel on racial tolerance is a current best seller He works under the pen name of J Ethelbert Paul As we talked I could not help admiring the costume my friend wore Its striking color and brilliant design made an interesting study I found this magnificent creation had been designed for her by none other than James L Paul known now to the fashion world as Jamie He is now in the fashion center. Paris and although he ls not French by birth his gowns have that undeniable Parisian accent his work sets the style pace and his talents are envied by all other artists I noticed that Geneva was holding a comic book which seemed to me as an odd sort of past time for an adult to engage in I glanced at it in consternation, trying not to appear nettled by my descovery She handed it to me for observation Much to my surprise I saw in And by Dale Stonewall' As I read I found that the creative gen us Dale had had in high school had no left him I also found that the originality of the comic was superb It dwelt only with superna tural powers' I fell to reading with a will knowing that I was ap pearlng rude to my companion Yet I could not tear myself from the imaginative masterpiece in my hands Just as I finished we entered the Chicago Station and I arose to leave I found that Geneva was leaving too and started to express my surprise but she hurried off muttering that she was sure she had seen Caroline' H mm Poor girl When I reached my office I still had the comic book in my hand and I glanced with interest at the back cover for there on the back page stood Jigga Stonewall, every inch of muscle bulging hold ing un the world with one hand Another Atlas' I read on the ad vertlsing below the picture that Jigga now known as Musclebound Mar vin of Minneapolis has opened a gymnasium in the same city where all those less fortunate men can have a figure such as his in only seven days Yes, those seniors have advanced And in doing so they have de fled all predictions 9 , Q I ' Q n the bold letters on the front cover 'Fearless Freddie Rides Agalnl' 1 ' z . e 9 ' S I 0 THUMBNAIL SKETCHES 'Carey is our mastermind, And he is never far behind ' Nickname Carey ' Pet Expression You Dog' 'Frank is the jovial type, 'Kick him out' he will always pipe ' Nickname Boots Pet Expression 'That's tough' ' 'Ramsey is our Fancy Dan, He is quite the ladies man ' Nickname Ramsey Pet Expression 'Watch it, Buddy, or I'll smack ya' ' 'Dale is our handsome lad, Full of fun and never sad ' Nickname Lefty Pet Expression Oh, dry up' 'Crawford is known for his laziness, In physics expecially, he is a mess ' Nickname Deacon Pet Expression 'Aw, shut up' ' 'Dewitt is the boy with a friendly grin With his dimples, he is sure to win Nickname Stcoge 'James E Paul is the lad with red hair In baseball, hs has steam to spare Nickname Chicker Pet Expression 'Not you, stupid' ' 'With James L Paul as president, For three years we have been content ' Nickname Jim Pet Expression Oh, no 7 'Geneva Hill is a very nice gal, To us she is a mighty fine pal ' Nickname Blondie Pet Expression 'For Pets's sake' ' 'Jean is always helpful and fun, To her success will be sure to come ' Nickname Jeanie Pet Expression Yah 'Though Kenneth is an honest gent, He s always in an argument ' Nickname Kenny Pet Expression 'I'm not the only one' What about the rest of them?
