Of 1967 In September 1962, we began the eighth grade as a class of 270 students, 144 boys and 126 girls. By the time of our ninth grade year our class enrollment consisted of 250 students. From the beginning of our sophomore year the enrollment dropped from 236 to 219. Throughout these years members of our class have participated annually in each sports event--We also shared in the receipt of awards during this time. To honor the seniors, our junior year, after much preparation, we presented them a prom, Moonlight and Roses , May 14, 1966. This year, May 13, 1967, a prom, Wonderland by Night , was presented in our honor by the junior class. Our Baccalaureate Service was Sunday, June 4, with the Rev. John W. Sherman delivering the sermon. Seniors, wearing caps and gowns, marched out to the traditional recessional, Pomp and Circumstance . During the Commencement Program on June 6, 189 seniors received their diplomas from Mr. Foglesong. The Valedictory address was delivered by Linda Ingram and the Salutatory address was presented by Terry Hypes. The one thousandth person to receive a diploma at Giles High School, Ronald Brumfield, was a member of the Class of ' 67. Thus, We finish to begin was the theme of the Class of 1967. 5
