As you must remember • he problems we faced— the auditorium, cafeteria, gymnasium, and cub lie address system were not comole ted. e felt that almost anything was better than trying to operate as Giles High : c h o 0 1 in the four different locations — iggl ' stor, ‘Tevoort, Pearisburg, and Pembroke. Finally that long awaited day came on Tovember 13 ? 1961 . Our faculty of 53 teachers was met by 10?-3 ag-. r students in some I4 2 classrooms to battle for better education. Id tele by little we have won the battle. Soon w ? hah a public address system, a caf-t.ria, a -gymnasium, and finally nr auditorium for the 1962 graduation. That first ' Tovsmber you were a class of 277 eighth graders; as freshmen you were 2g9j -ss sophomores you were 225? and as juniors 215 • “ow, I say congratulations to a class of 200— the first class to start and graduate from Giles High School. 14
