CALENDAR School days begin again. X , We all had a vacation to go to the Jasper 'County Fair. The Gilboa Band played and did a niceijob of it, too. Hang over from day before. Freshman's Initiation Day. We decided they were pretty good sports. - Won softball game with kemington. Score 6-7. Started to plan our Carnival. The seniors' hay ride washed out by rain, but we didn't let that stop us from having a car ride to the show. Sophomores give All-School Party. Okey too! Juniors give their class play, Hillbilly Courtship . Pupils vacation while teachers Christmas shop. Ditto. Ditto. This is the day before the.day when the seniors are too busy to go to classes. Senior Carnival a big success. Big money - Sl98.9O. Jimmie' big smile. fCarolyn won Popularity Contest.J Our day for' house cleaning after the carnival. CThe only trouble was that it didn't take longer to straighten things up.j We seniors got shot today. fCamera is sure to be broken now.j Have Thanksgiving vacation. Mr. May had better been up in the assembly the first period after dinner today. flt seems the seniors have kept their mean- ness in about as long as possible.l he seniors got our pictures. Hm! Not Bad! The day we shouldn't have went to school. After all, the roads were drifted. Lost game with Remington. Score 22-37. Didn't have school on account of roads, but I guess the teachers thought it was time for another vacation. Christmas Program called off because the roads slip all over the place. Eh? The teachers sure wanted a vacation awfully bad fha can't help it cause we're so nwan we get on their nerves.j Just Christmas Day. What did Santa bring you? Students are getting lonesome for the teachers. The day people try to think they can see something different by staying up till after midnight. Mr. Puett's paddle disappears. Mr. Puett makes another paddle. Hon game with heynolds. Score 152-28. Seventh and eighth grade boys sent up to the office. Shame: Faye and Virginia had party last night. It must have get them down today. Ike sick from bis'nol. Mr. Puett's second paddle missing. Frank Waker makes another paddle. Lost game with Remingtonf Score 44-32. Vr. Puett sprung one of those tests on his senior-junior histonr class. .What fun! Seniors start Shakespear'e's Mecbeth. . Paul Clauss has sleeping sickness. Uiss Jennett's bookkeeping class get her down. Basketball boys make trip to Indianapolis to play Sacred Yeart. Gilboa Light Publishing Corporation formed. Eighth grade expect to make big money. Long, wasn 't it? 12 - 'Annual scrap' among seniors. 12 - Velda--s kleptomaniacg took home a typewriter. 14 - Worse case we ever sat'--she took two more. . 14 - Basketball :boys went tqllogansport to practice for sectional. 14 - Lights out, water of'1',! school out. 14 - The day all the senicrs should have been over at Velda's work-' ing on the Annual. Paul J. only one to report. ' 15 - Paul went home. Velda and Miss Jennett still tolling. fand Elmer, Four completed pages went out in the mail today. Bob, Paul C., and Knoefel arrived to do their part. 19 - Faye Marie has home economics club meeting. Played games and Velda and Elinor sang 'Rock A-Bye Bby. 20 - Jimmy Flickner wins 'Annual Naming Contest. He called it Echoes. He gets a free annual if v:e'e'ver get them done. 21 - Pictures taken for annual. 21 - Sectional at Ambia begins. 22 - Sophomcres receive class rings. Are they ever the proud ones! 22 - Seniors work on annual all morning. School dismissed at noon for tourney. 22 - Gilboa played Boswell, the team picked to win the sectional. We lost after leading all the way to the third quarter. 23 - Boswell and Fowler play final game. Boswell won, '43-40 28 - Mr. May stayed home for his sale. 'Unexcused absence. I-hr. l - .gnnual goes to press. From here on our Diary is 'Guess and Hope . 7 - Band Concert and eats. 29 - Home Economics Club goes to Indianapolis. April l - Perfect attendance--April Fool H111 5 - Sophomores take 'business trip to Lafayette. 12 - Juniors and seniors have jolly time in Chicago. Stayed all night at the Sherman Hotel. 13 - Still having a grand time in Chicago. 21 - Bccalaureate. 25 - Freshmen were good today. 26 - Graduation! Tear drops. Who said SO? 30 - Report cards.
