FOURTH GRADE The third grade started this year with nine in their class. There were five girlsland four boys. The girls were: Marilyn McFa1l, Donna Sue Hackley, Betty Ann Dexter, Kathryn Ann Halsema, and Wilma Jean Beckley. The boys were: Lowell Bahler, James Alberts, Neal mer, and lhrvin Iambert. In February we were joined by Ruth Harper and It-lph Burke. We have enjoyed several parties during the year, many of which have been planned by the class. The fourth grade moved intotheir new seats and etartedwork with nine in their class. The boys outnumbered the girls by one. Film Lou Simmons, Helen Abbo' t, .Loisl Dexter and Norma Jo Sheets kept up ,the girls' side 'while Richard Tobias, Richard Barbour, ,Max Sheets, Gerald Longhst, and James mxter worked hard to keep their score ahead. Norma Jo Sheets and Wilma Lou Simmons deserted us to go to Wolcott and Mex Sheets decided to try f the Ylondike school. Today we have only six fourth graders. PRIQMARY GRADES In the primary grades, we teach not only for keeps but also for high stakes. It's the primary teacher who has golden opportunities to help each individual come out on the winning Side in such decisions as 'Shall I have confidence in myself or shall I not7 When the primary teacher earns the trust and confidence of children, she has taught then, perhaps unknowingly, one of life's best lessons. On August 28, 1944 we started to school. Everything was very new to us. Our teacher was Mrs. Donovan. The following boys and girls were in the first grade: Loretta Beckley, Janet Beseler, Carol Ferry, lhrilyn Lester, Dolores Nussbaum, Film Ubblnga, Paul Dowell, Richard Longest, Paul lhy, Ronald Schluttenhofer, and Kenneth Simmons. Later Russell Wasner entered from Iafeyette and lhttie lluth Abbott entered from Fowler. This year we are in the second grade. he first grade pupils are Margaret Abbott, Wayne Exter, George Eldeg lhxine llcFa1l, lhry Nichols, Beverly Peacock, Gail Siebenthal, Myrna Simmons, Gene Allen Wealing, Winifrod Whitoomb. Russell Wssner, and Paul Dowell. A George Elder, Winifred Whitcomb, lbrna and Kenneth Simons with- drew from Gilbca School. Mrs. Donovan is our teacher again this year. ' We have taken part in several school activities: a tea for our Mothers, Uomlmity 01'-lb Programs. bond drives, Red Cross-I and Infantile Paralysis drives- We have B Reading Club.
