PRINCIPAL'S ESSAGE MR, PEC KHAM To The Members of the Class of 1959 You leave high school to face a world in which the demand for trained young people is greater than ever before. The technological advances of re- cent decades have not only served to decrease or alleviate the backbreaking labor which mankind has long performed but have also created vast new op- portunities at the skilled and professional levels. The future will bring many more. The fields of missile and space research have scarcely been touched. There is and will be no limit to the openings for the young people who have ability and are willing to apply themselves and make the necessary effort to secure the required training. My wish for each of you is that by the wise application of the skills and attitudes you have acquired during the past four years you may succeed in your chosen vocation. Also in our present political situation with the cold war still dictating many phases of our daily life there has never been a greater need for enlightened, active, interested citizens. l feel constrained to urge each of you to be not only upright law abiding citizens, but also to be active in the affairs of your community, state and nation. Your forefathers endured privation and shed their blood that you might enjoy the blessings of freedom in a democracy. So live and act that you may preserve this heritage of freedom for those who follow you. Please accept my best wishes for success, health and happiness. Sincerely, i TB, V. B. Peckham 5
