Some of you will enter other institutions of learning, some the Armed Forces and some will go directly into your chosen occupations. lt is my hope that the past four years have provided you not only with the basic skills but with general knowledge, habits of morality, principles of good sportsmanship and the practices of citizenship which will enable you to build a satisfactory career in your chosen fields of endeavor. The problems of our country have never been more serious than at present: in a time of unprecedented prosperity, we must struggle to preserve our way of life. As you settle in various communities and take up the full burden of responsible citizenship, may it be given to each of you to make those contributions to the welfare of the community, state and nation that our democracy may survive and improve and that you may pass on to future generations the blessings of freedom which you have en- joyed. As a group you have made an enviable record. The same application to work and duty which you have demonstrated here will assure your future success. Dedication MRS. HERBERT EDWARDS We, the Class of 1957, wish to dedicate our yearbook to Mrs. Herbert Edwards, our guide in Junior High, and Mr. James Gallagher, advisor in our Sophomore and Junior years. During the two years that Mrs. Edwards was our advisor, she did much for our class, directing us in our efforts.
