A ational Honor ociet The National Honor Society was organized in 1943-44. Nineteen members were initiated into the society the first year. Each year since, those students having the requirements in scholarship, leadership, citizenship, character, and service are taken in. This year, Mrs. MargaretHatfield is the club advisor and there are eigh- teen members. The Junior Honor Society, which is open to students in Junior High School, was organized in 1953 with Mrs. Martha Smith as their advisor. Future Homemakers of America The Future Homemakers of America was organized in 1950 with Mrs. Estelle Ellis as sponsor. The purpose of the club is to train girls to be better homemakers. There are two clubs now at GHS. The senior high club has 20 members and the junior high club, which was started this year, has 24 members.
