Because of his fair treatment of his staff, his rapport with the Board of Education, his wholehearted support of extracurricular activities, and his never-tiring efforts to improve the quality of the Gideon Schools, Mr. Henry is respected and well-liked by students, faculty, and other school personnel. Mr. Henry is also an asset to the community, evidenced by his partici- pation in civic activities. He is a past President of the Gideon Kiwanis Club, a member of the City Library Board for nine years, member of the City Council Advisory Board, and has been of tremendous value to the city of Gideon in heading the committee which planned and worked out details for Gideon's Sewage disposal system. He is a member of the Methodist Church. Mr. Henry's hobbies are reading books on philosophy and doing gen- ealogical research. He became interested in genealogy when he discovered he was a direct descendant of Patrick Henry through the early American statesman's oldest son John. i Q cus, age 13, Mrs. Henry, and Jeffery, age 6. - M124 B. PAY HENRY The yearbook staff chose to dedicate this 1965 GISEMO to Mr. Henry early in the year even before his acceptance of a new position with the Farmington Schools, Farmington, Missouri. This dedication is perhaps made more timely because of that fact. However, the real significance of this dedication is to point out the service and inspiration Mr. Henry has given to his community, his profession, and the Gideon Schools. We, as students of Gideon High School and as members of the year- book staff, hereby recognize his many contributions to our education and do dedicate this 1965 GISEMO to Superintendent B. Ray Henry. 3 In his office, Mr. Henry confers with his secre tary, Mrs. Joanna Moore. On the first day of the 1964-65 school year Mr. Henry talks with students and faculty members. ,,,.-za,
