He had formerly served as principal of the Nevada High Sc ool, and as principlal of e Independence High Sc ool, be- fore going to Merriam, Kansas as principal of the Shawnee- Mission High School. Most of his raduate work was done in the iield of secondary educa- tion. Since Mr. Gum assumed his duties as principal of the Gideon High School, a number of new courses have been add- ed to the course of study. The activity program has been reor- ganized so t at the home room is an integral part of the schoo1's administration.
