FOOTPRINTS IN THE SANDS OF TIME. A couple, walking slowly down the beach, leaves footprints — in the moist sand near the water's edge. These traces, seem- ingly endless, march onward as does time. But all too soon, the tide steals in to erase the prints and leaves a clean slate i of sand once more. Just as time marches on, so do the four years at Gibsonville High School. Yet unlike time’s steady pro- gression, a student often hesitates . . . often falters as he seeks his way. At such times, the moments spent in a classroom seem to drag on endlessly. Then, suddenly those four years are a part of the past. We have graduated and before us lies the uncertain future, a clean slate of sand once more. A moment of indecision . . . a moment of excitement at a great ballgame .. . a moment of pride when we don our caps | and gowns... these were our transient moments of youth. These were those four years of laughter and tears, work and play set down in the sands of time, now washed away—but not forgotten. These moments of experience will only hint at what the future holds in store for us. Yet, of one thing we can be certain. . . although the time spent with friends and new ideas has passed quickly, it will leave an impression which will never fade from the sands of time. }
