Tl-HQ WAQTHEYEAPJTHGV. . . Mr. Kniesly became High School Principal. The Senior Class Play, A Feudin' Over Yonder was presented on two nights, November 15th and 16th. Vanguard Vocational School opened its doors for the first time. Mike Ruggiero was named to 1st team All-Ohio A football team as a defensive linebacker. John Homan received Honorable Mention as offensive guard in All-Ohio A. Coni Stevenson was Homecoming Queen. Her court included Chris Clark, Sue Lepley, Nancy Diab Paula Price, and Lesa Seem. Seven seniors received letters of commendation for their scores on the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, Mr. Niederhouse finally became a senior. All four Reserve Cheerleaders were juniors. Mary Mauch placed lst in the state in the Sophomore Americanism and Govertunent test. Cathy Seem was a winner in the Voice of Democracy contest. The Senior Class had an unofficial class yell, which appeared written in many odd places, The Lime Lite featured Dear Agatha, book reviews, photographs, and covers in color. Mike Ruggiero, Susie Smith, Beth Clark, Iim Henline, Pat Balsizer, Cathy Schumaker, David Damschroder and Kevin Haubert became models for an evening. Shirley Hardy was elected FFA Queen. Her attendants were LeAnne Gerwin, Paula Price, and Linda Fork. Karen Beeker was valedictorian of the Class of 1969: Anne Hutchinson was Salutatorian. Eighteen Seniors graduated with Honors. 'fLove Is Blue was the theme of the Junior-Senior Prom, held May 17, 1969. Ann Carlson placed 1st in Sandusky County for her essay in the Ability Counts contest. Laugh-1n and Mod Squad were popular. The Junior Class Play was Mumbo-Jumbo. Pat Burns was named 1969 Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow. Student Council held elections for the 1969-'70 school year in May, 1969. A Slop Day was held on February 7, 1969. Gibsonburg and Lakota combined for a Computer Dance. Anne Hutchinson won 1st in the GTCTM Contest. Choir received a 1 at contest. Sideburns, sweatshirts, shorter skirts and culottes caused a few problems. Becky Ruth directed the All Senior Choir which sang at Baccalaureate and Commencement. The Lime Lite sponsored a Senior Poll, which appeared in the 30 page Senior Issue. The Dean of Men and Dean of Women were added to the faculty. The Class of 1969 was the best ever!! !
