About fifty of our students are leaving Gibraltar Big: School having completed ' their four year course. At such a time, one is moved to regret the parting because it is evident that thereafter those who were intimately associated in daily activity can meet onJ.y on rare occasions. There is a pathos in this thought that makes all of us linger to press each other's hand. At the same time it was known to all, that it must come about, that we must part. We have a mission to perform in life, a destiny to live. It is a lsu of life. Every mother regrets the passing of the childhood days of her 4 baby, yet not one would really vant her little one to remain a child indefinitely, In this same way, we, who have gown to mature stature both physically and mentally having discovered the change in ourselves, realize that we must move on to newildh of work. What this work will be will depend on our ability. How high each one of us will climb depends not along on accidental opportunity. In many cases, it will de- pend on the resource.t'ulness of our imagination and above all, our willingness to work hard, to make sacrifices in order to prepare ourselves more adequately for our place in productive enterprise. Whatever may become our position, great or obscure, we will have the cp- portunity to do our best. If we will apply ourselves diligently, we will, each one of us, share in the benefits that our richly endowed country has al.- ' J wqa given to every industrious youth. Depressions and vars have come, depres- sions and vars have gone, new crises appear, but America has always found a Qi place for anybody who had the perserverance to keep on trying. Aa the curtain closes on the drama of the hiya school dqs of the senior class, we join with the Board of Fducation, and the faculty in extending to them our congmtulations and best wishes for real success, Ay . any Z.
