,lun UlNlf DR l MING '76 Homecoming '76 proved to be the most spectacular and spirited y Many students participated in the various activities throughout t wee Dress-up Day started everything oft, with many students flashing whole new image. Another favorite trademark of Homecoming Wee Fifties Day, featured bobby socks, red lipstick, and ducktails, and outc any previous year. T-shirt and Tennis Shoe Day brought wi participation from not only the students, but many faculty members well. Character Day gave many people a chance to exhibit th zaniness. Groups of tourists and Arabs roamed Gibbs' halls, as did ever popular Ftaggedy Anns and other creative characters. Amid all activities, the Choir Department managed to produce an alumni sh. Friday evening before the game. Enthusiasm continued to rise duri the Pep Assembly on Frida During the week each class chose a student as its 1976 ivlr. Gladiat Senior Roosevelt Stephens, junior Mike Simpson, sophomore Anth Antonowitz, and freshman Glenn Gordon were chosen by cl members to help raise school spirit and enthusia Excitement came to a peak at the Homecoming game. As the Gladiat relentlessly trampled the Patriots, the crowd restlessly awaited crowning of the Queen. The half-time show opened with an impres parade of floats and the presentation of the 1976 Homecoming Co Jennifer Geer, Rosie Slone, Schelle Bucholz, Donna Downing, M Stewart, DeeDee Wells, Sue Campbell, .Janet Foreman, and Sa Williams were escorted through an aisle of glittering flags to app before the assembled spectators. The crowd displayed their deligh approval as Sarah Williams was crowned Homecoming Que Excitement climaxed as the Gladiators pushed their way to a 2 victory, winning their final game ofthe seas The Homecoming Dance, held at Ponderosa Steak House, brought week's festivities to a satisfying ffl Spirit, excitement, and pride mingled to make Homecoming memorable week and one ofthe highlights ot the
