Qenfbr C7999 D160 At 7:25 a.m. on May 18, at Cox Municipal Air- port, a voice announced: Those boarding flight 466 for La, Guardia Airport, New York, please line up at the gate. Good-bye kisses were exchanged and 24 excited seniors, along with I oyce and Fred Bern- hard boarded the plane for the Big City. Seat belts were fast- ened, directions given, and then we were whisked up, up, and away. After landing we gath- ered lugglage and loaded the bus t at would take us l to the Edison Hotel. Rooms were assigned and then we had lunch at Howard Iohnson's, around the corner from the hotel. Before the first da was over we knew we hadyleft G-burg behind for city life! While there we visited Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral, the Bowery, Chinatown, Stat- ue of Liberty, Empire State Building, crossed long bridges, saw the Time an Life Building, visited Radio City Music Hall, United Nations, Greenwich Villa e, saw The Little Churci Around the Corner, Hansom cabs, y visited the Philharmonic 1 Hall, the Metropolitan Opera House an saw Times Square. We walked miles, rode y busses, subways, and some of us saw the city from the windows of a taxi. On May 20, the tired bedraggled seniors again boarde the TWA plane. 'I'his time they were head- ed west to home, sweet home. Some will get to New York again, but no one will ever forget the three fun filled days of their SENIOR CLASS TRIP.
