Hlass Prophecy YOU ARE THERE This is Channel XYZ, Planet, Mars, bringing to you a special program. Our narrator for this special program. is Mr. Floyd J. Maurer, who recently spent a day in Gettytown, District 56, Planet, Mars. Hello! folks, it is my pleasure to reveal to you the happenings that took place September 3, 1966, on Mars. I met Roger Wehrley, Superintendent of Getty High School, whose complete faculty were members from the 56 Senior Class of Gettysburg High School, Earth, and he wanted me to see the splendid jobs that they were doing. I met Dixie Sando working as the school secretary, who is still single which pleases all the high school boys. Dixie took me to see Donna Miller, a Registered Nurse at the Getty Hospital, who was making her annual check-ups at the school. Noticing Myra Jane Bowman, the Home Economics teacher, rush by the door, I went to see her department. While we were talking, in came Linda Class, who was to demonstrate her hair style, Pink Poodle , for bald-headed women to Myra's Home Economics classes. I found Herbert Hill, the science teacher, working in the school laboratory. After hearing a big roar, Herbert informed me,that it was the band practicing under the direction of Jane Lecklider, head of the Music Department. At lunchltalked to Jack Horner, the agriculture teacher, who drives an 888 rocket ship. We were discussing the progress of agriculture on Mars when he told me that Carl Strobel had leased a few acres of his land for research to the Future Farmers of Mars. Jack also told me about James Steele's most recent poultry development---hens that lay three eggs. I talked to Larry Brewer, the English and math teacher. He told me about his family's past sumrner's vacation at Lawrence Millers Spend It And Enjoy It , summer resort, which had a swimming pool made of platinum and pearls. I went out into the hall and found Joh.n Keller, the champion interplanetary basketball coach since defeating the Globe Trotters, Earth, and Charles Sell, the recent Ping-Pong champion. I congratulated both of them on their fine work. We met Betty Lou Smith, the Mayor's wife, in the hall and she took me to see her Commercial Department. I asked Betty if Norma Root were teaching anywhere. She said Norma was to take a position at the new elementary school this fall. I left the high school and drove over to the elementary building and found Richard Marker, owner of the Build Them High And Square construction company. He purchased his Cadillac from Ronald Eley, who is President of Mars General Motors Division. On my way over to see Richard I talked to James Arnett, owner of the Cosmic Ray Water Pistol factory. While driving down Main Street I noticed a big sign reading Martian News---Kenneth Mc- Nutt, Star Reporter , so I stopped. He told me about the gold plaque that Gayle Rhoades, Police Commissioner, was awarded for solving the murder of Captain Video. I stopped at a dress shop to get my wife something and found Patsy Jackson to be the pro- prietor. While at the dress shop I met Mildred Flora, who is working as a Spaceline Hostess on one of Dick Fine's many space ships. Dick is President of the Interplanetary Travel Service and has many flights scheduled each day. I found my way to the 1:own's finest night-club. The evening's entertainment featured Gene Riffell and Tom Miller, who are well known for their jazz and popular music. I left the night- club feeling very proud of the success of the class I supervised in 1955-56. Friends, this program has been brought to you over Channell XYZ, supervised by two more members of the 56 Gettysburg Senior Class, Ted Griffieth and Charles James, who are Presi- dent and Vice-President of the Communication Correspondence between planets.
