was the postmasterj After recovering from the shock I asked Gene the .where- abouts of some of the others and he told me George Laughman was running a model agency which primarily modeled bathing suits. Janeva Etzler had married and was living on a farm down in Preble County. I decided to go visit George and look over his merchandise. I found him sitting at a desk leaning back puffing on a big fat cigar surrounded by ten beauties in bathing suits. George told me he was a confirmed bachelor CI should live so longij and often took trips to the deep, dark regions of Africa where he often came acrcss Jeanette okiles and her husband on mission- ary work doing wonders. It wesn't until then I noticed George's secretary in the background. She wore dark horn-rimmed glasses and her hair fixed in a bun at the nape of her neck. Imagine :y surprise when I fnund it to be Evelyn Lavy. George was busy with the nodels so I talked with Evelyn. She told me she was in love with George, but so far he hadn't even noticed her. I left George and Evelyn with their trials and tribulations, and be- coming tired of walking I started looking for a U-Drive It station. I found one soon ran by Eddie Jakubowski. He just happened to have a '62 Rolls Royce he said I could drive around rent free. I was driving along at only about 80 miles per hour when I heard a po- lice siren. Much to my relief the cop turned out to be Police Commissioner Walter Wirrig. Halter gave me a firm, but friendly, lecture and let me go. I continued my drive down the beautiful boulevard until I saw the Fasick Jet motor Plant off to the right. It was owned by hr. Lloyd Iasick, my senior class advisor. after our class I can't blame him for going into an easier job. A new parking lot was being cleared by the plant. I was fascin- ated by the work one of the bulldozers was doing, when the driver jumped off and started pumping my Land up and down. It was Chester durns. de told me he owned a whole fleet of bulldozers. I began to feel hungry sc I pulled my Rolls-Royce up to the next res- turaunt. The name of it was The Rendezvous and a very ritzy place at that. ny bill was Q25 and as I was eyeing it coldly, Bob Blocher walked up, picked up the bill, and tore it into little pieces. He owned this place. I was glad I had broken no more than his nose when we were bac3 in high school. Bob then took me across the street to look at the theater Luane norton ran called the lor-Ton Theater . The latest Broadway hit, Duel on the Loon , was playing there. I went back to the hotel to slick up a bit because I had to be getting on the road before long. As I looked into the mirror I was shocked by what looked back. I had been on the road for quite awhile and had forgotten all about my hair needing cut. I went down to the lobby and looked for a barber shop. I saw a sign that said 'Tonsorial and Beauty Parlorsn and went in. I got my hair cut right away and as I was taking my leave a woman came rushing into the room to borrow a special hind of scissors. I found her to be Priscilla Burk. She ran the beauty parlor and her husband ran the tonsorial parlor. I asked her what happened to iary Anna Petersime, Janice Long, wade Flora, and Jack Linder. hary Anna was a Professor of husic at Manchester Collegeg Janice, a private secretary to a handsome general at WPAFBg Wade, the Darke County Agricultural Extension Agent, and shy little Jack Linder, why he's governor of Ohio. I left Priscilla and went to the filling station to get my truck. As I passed on through Gettysburg I couldn't help from sighing and smiling lightly at the jobs the future had had in store for the graduating class of the year nineteen hundred and fifty-two. 20
