THHID ROW: Mrs. Vanscoyck, Margery Martin, Luanne Erisman, Iva Baker, janet Morton, Evelyn Knecht Nancy Myers, Adele Stoltz, Patricia Cottrell, Betty Johnston, Patricia Detrick. FOURTH ROW: john Farmer, junior Class, Dale Derahem, Harold Spahr, joe Partin, Donaldvshilt, Robert Long, Bodo Kretlchman, Eugene Etzler, johnny Flory, Merlin Miller. In September forty-one boys and girls enrolled in the Seventh gradeg thrilled, as usual, by the jump into junior High and the new opportunities being offered to them, Giving up the old things, to which they had been accustomed, was at first a little difficult, but new and varied activities soon filled the gap and all was forgotten. Officers were elected early to guide them in their activities, throughout the year, with Mrs. Vanscoyk as their advisor. The junior High Basketball team claimed some of the boys as players and two of the girls are members of the Cheer Leading group. 30

SECOND ROW: Miss Bucholtz, Lester Bixler, Wayne James, Norma Miller, Danny Binkley, Gene Shuttleworth, jim Grote, Merlin Keeler, Wayne Shafer, Hadley de Bordeaux. TI-IlRD,ROW: Barbara Byram, Gene Shoenleben, Harold Zacharias, Ralph Lyme, Ray Lavy, Harrison Monnier, Ricky Baird, E. J. Ciaaner, Janice Hahn. The thirteen girls and seventeen boys of the Eight grade elected Gene Shuttleworth, presidentg Wayne james, vice- president: Marlene Small secretary-treasurerg Marilyn Eley, council member: and Danny Binkley, reporter. David Anderson did not seem to make up his mind whether he liked G. H. S. or not for he left the group several times but he always returned. The class held their Christmas party at the home of their advisor, Miss Bucholtz. It was really fun to be together as a class after school and not have to worry about classes the next day. The big event of the spring was the hay ride and picnic. 29
