Sophomore Class FIRST ROW: Wilda Kendall, Betty Dickey, Jeanette Skiles, Phyllis Shoffner, janet Nease, Dorothy Garber Ruth Fields,Eve1yn Lavy, janeva Etzler, Janice Long. SECOND ROW: Mrs. Arnett, jack Linder, Wade Flora, Don Horner, Carolyn Powell, Mary Anna Peterlixne, Priscilla Burk, Chester Burns, Marvin Small, Bob Blocker. THIRD ROW: jack Alspaugh, Duane Morton, Walter Wirrig, Alvin Miller, Hollie Burk, Cecil Pugh, Adrian Miller. Gene Hawes. The class of '52 has a membership of thirty students, seventeen boys and thirteen girls. Class parties are always big events to these students. Everyone enjoyed seeing the Freshmen suffer during initiation as the Sophomores did last year. The treasury was increased early in the year by shucking popcorn. Each member also pays monthly dues. Quite a few of the group participates in activities, such as band, orchestra, chorus, baseball, basketball and other activities. Z7

THIRD ROW: Kitchel Studebaker, Duane Detrick, Harold Colllnl, Melvin Corning, David Mgqlgghin Hollis Flora. Bill Keller, Wayne Didier, mann Amee, Lavon Miller. ' The junior class has a total of twenty-nine ambitious students. The class officers are Harold Collins, president: Bill Keller, vice-president, Vera Dickey, secretaryg Wayne Didier, treasurer, Phyllis Johnson, reporter, and Bill Stoltz, student council member. Two new pupils joined us this year. They are joan Knecht from Versailles and Omer Holsapple from Arcanum. We are sorry to lose Phyllis Archey to Palestine. Many Moons , the class play, was given November 8-9 with a cast of ten. Z6

SECOND ROW: Mary McGlothin, Patsy Clark, Alma jean Martin, Barbara Sander, Ida Mae Dardlng, joan Schultz., Phyllis Knecht, Dixie jo Hollinger, Shirley Cottrell, Anna Mae Ditmer. THIRD ROW: Mr. Risser, Delbert Yount, Bill Brewer, Lavonne Henderson, Esther Ferne Peterlixne, Etta Mae Flora, Kathryn Kissinger, Eldon Shoenleben, Phillip Spahr. FOURTH ROW: Emerson Brewer, Calvin Sell, David Johnston, Eldon Miller, Ralph Farmer, Tom Brown, jack Byram, Bud Ditmer. The school year of 1949 opened with thirty-nine young, eager Freshmen. Later in the school year two new pupils joined them, Max Brown and johnny Stahl After the first few weeks of getting accustomed to high schoo1,c1ass officers were elected as follows: President, Eldon Millerg Vice-President, Etta Mae Florag Secretary, Lavonne Hendersong Treasurer, Alma jean Matting Student Council, Bill Brewer, Reporter, Ida Mae Darding. During the course of the year, the Freshmen were initiated into high school. The group enjoyed two parties during the year, one with the Sophomores and a Christmas party. Many of the boys participated in basketball and baseball. Some of the girls and boys organized a basketball team and played at noon with other teams. The kind consideration and careful guidance of Mr. Risser will bring the class to be what they ought to be. Z8
